Disaronno ‘pays it forward’ at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week

Disaronno teams up with Australian Designer label ‘Romance Was Born’ at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week

Disaronno is proud to announce that they are an official liquor partner of Afterpay Australian Fashion Week (AAFW) 2021 as it celebrates its 26th year. In a fashion week first, Disaronno partners with internationally renowned Australian designers, Romance Was Born as sponsor of the headline show (RWB).

The collaboration brings ethical and responsible fashion to the forefront for both brands for the first time in the event’s history. Whilst Romance Was Born’s show focuses on upcycling and the reusing of fabrics, Disaronno encourages us to do the same through a consumer competition and their exclusive influencer party.

RWB is renowned for their diverse mediums, including wallpaper, furniture, art installations, fashion shoots, theatre and pop performance costumes, promising an unforgettable opening show for the week.

At their exclusive Disaronno party, attendees will be invited to bring in garments destined for landfill for RWB’s Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett to upcycle. Five of the outfits they repurpose will then be donated to Dress for Success. A company created to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, development and providing professional attire.

Additionally, the pairing offers Australian’s a chance to win a Romance Was Born wardrobe as well as a number of other prizes. In keeping with their giving back theme there’s also the chance to ‘pay it forward’ by nominating someone you feel deserves the prize more than yourself.

DISARONNO’s Brand Ambassador, Danilo Migliorini, was challenged with capturing the essence of Aperitivo hour on the Italian streets, a favourite past time for Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales of RWB, whilst giving the cocktail a fashion twist.

Danilo comments, “I created this recipe after having a chat with Anna and Luke. They told me what they love about Italy, starting with countless beautiful historic churches, and the quality of their coffee and chocolate. Sitting out on the streets in a café and soaking it all in. They also like Espresso Martinis so I took the chance to make their own cocktail based on that, but with a twist. ‘A Romance Was Born In Saronno’.”

This drink is smooth and velvety with a refreshing citrus after-taste.

Disaronno is the drink of choice for the fashion elite, as Brand Ambassador, Danilo Migliorini, showcases his exclusive ‘Romance Was Born’ cocktail. These and every other Disaronno cocktails throughout the entire fashion week will be served in entirely upcycled glassware.

Thanks to its smooth taste and unmistakable aroma, DISARONNO is highly regarded as the Italian stylish icon in over 160 countries around the world. The iconic DISARONNO recipe composed of natural almonds, vanilla from Madagascar, and pure caramelized sugar, as well as the addition of aromatic and alcoholic complexity, makes the DISARONNO taste distinctively delicious.

Australia’s only international fashion event, Afterpay Australian Fashion Week (AAFW), is held from 31 May until 4 June at Carriageworks and other select venues throughout Sydney.
