To create Double Cask, The Macallan brings new oak from America across thousands of miles to Spain, where the casks are crafted and sherry-seasoned before travelling to the distillery on Speyside to mature. Port Charlotte 10-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

For those who prefer single malts on the peaty side, Bruichladdich offers the heavily peated Port Charlotte 10 single malt. Port Charlotte single malts are bottled at 59.2% alcohol in limited numbers and peated to a heavyweight 40PPM. This sweet and fruity spirit spends time in first-fill American whiskey casks and second-fill French wine casks and is then matured for an extra year in the finest French oak from Bordeaux. The resulting rich and aromatic spirit has all the power of peat, yet with elegance and finesse.

Octomore – the world’s most heavily peated series of single malt Scotch whiskies

For those for whom too much peat is never enough, Bruichladdich Distillery also offers the Octomore Series range.

Octomore (the name means ‘Big Eighth’) is the world’s most heavily peated series of single malt Scotch whiskies, created from stratospherically peated, Scottish barley. Each individual expression is handcrafted and released in Limited, numbered editions.

Sometimes bottled bold and brazen at 5 years old, always at cask strength, Octomore fatally undermines the assumption that the quality of Scotch whisky is always a function of its age.

Octomore 13.1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Octomore 13.1 is as youthful and dynamic as its super-heavily peated predecessors. Distilled patiently from the 2015 harvest of 100% Scottish Mainland barley, this single malt is malted to a stratospheric 137.3 PPM and matured in the highest quality American oak casks.

Octomore 13.2 offers an alternative maturation to the structural brilliance delivered by its 13.1 counterpart. In an indulgent point of difference, the five-year-old spirit has spent its entire maturing life in Oloroso butts from Fernando de Castilla, Spain.

Octomore 13.3 Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Like all Octomore .3 editions, the 13.3 is distilled from 100% Islay barley. The barley is grown on Octomore farm, around two miles south of Bruichladdich Distillery. The name for the Octomore range originated from this farm, and the .3’s are generally matured in a mixture of ex-American and ex-European oak casks. Octomore 13.3 is matured in a combination of ex-American whiskey and second-fill ex-French oak casks.
