Founded in 1934 in the German town of Wolfenbüttel, Jägermeister stands as the world’s most successful herb-flavoured liqueur. Curt Mast, aiming to shift his family’s vinegar business in a new direction, blended 56 botanicals, creating a liqueur with a complex and aromatic character.
The logo, depicting a stag with a glowing cross between its antlers, traces its roots to the story of Saint Hubertus. A former wild huntsman, Hubertus experienced a vision that transformed him into an advocate for nature and the patron saint of hunters. Curt found this tale fitting for his potent elixir, adopting the stag emblem in homage to the true ‘Hunting Master’ – Jägermeister in German.
