Teremana

Teremana^® Tequila is the premium, small-batch tequila founded by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Teremana^® Tequila is crafted at Destilería Teremana De Agave in the small town of Jesús María in the highlands of Jalisco.

Produced in partnership with the Lopez family, who are third-generation agave growers and second-generation tequila makers, Teremana^® is made using 100% mature Blue Weber Agave, slow roasted in small, traditional brick ovens and distilled in handmade copper pot stills.

TEREMANA combines two meaningful words. ‘TERE’ derived from the Latin ‘terra’ meaning earth and ‘MANA’, the Polynesian word meaning spirit – Teremana is the “Spirit of the Earth”. 
Rooted in the principles of quality and accessibility, Teremana® embodies the spirit of Mana, a powerful force that inspires us to foster good energy, bring people together, and do the right thing.

Crafted in a small Mexican town, amidst the highest peaks of the Jalisco Highlands, every step of Teremana tequila-making process is meticulously done to create delicious tequila that truly honours the land it comes from.

Utilising 100% brick oven roasting allows Teremana to bring out the bright citrus flavours of highlands agave. The traditional roasting process takes three days before shredding the agave and extracting juices for fermentation. The left over agave fibres are used as organic compost for the agave fields.

After the open tank fermenting process, Teremana is distilled using handmade copper pot stills. These stills were made by a local artisan on the premises of the distillery. The nature of the handmade copper stills not only harkens back to the days of traditional tequila-making processes but also produces a cleaner, smoother tequila.
