M is the iconic result of an unprecedented collaboration between three masters of their crafts; The Macallan, The ultimate luxury spirit; Lalique, The world’s best crystal maker; and Fabien Baron, legendary designer. Drawing on some of the richest casks maturing at The Macallan distillery, this complex and intense whisky includes Macallan distilled in 1940. The deep rosewood colour derives purely from the 500 litre sherry seasoned casks, butts and puncheons, mostly built of Spanish oak. Fashioned from the highest grade crystal, the six facets of the decanter reflect the wonderful, deep, natural colour of the whisky like a cut, highly polished diamond. One of the darkest whiskies The Macallan create, M is matured in a small hand-selected number of sherry-seasoned oak casks and showcases The Macallan’s rich natural colour proudly.
Each M decanter is individually numbered.
Rosewood.
Dried fruits ripen, then soften. Vanilla accompanies green apple hand in hand. Ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon create an ensemble in the background, with strong notes of polished oak and depth of resinous, juicy oranges.
The palate opens rich in wood spices, slowly showing all their viscosity. Wood smoke flits in and out.
The heavier raisin and sultana flavours take over, meandering to a long full finish.
