DISARONNO, a smash hit amongst fashionistas

May 21, 2019

Mercedes-Benz Fashion week was held in Sydney from 12 – 17th May 2019. It is Australia’s only international fashion platform, with a focus on providing Australian designers with a platform to connect with a global audience of buyers, press and consumers. The 6-day schedule includes a curated selection of Australia’s best fashion designers alongside a showcase of the brightest emerging talent.

The official liqueur partner of MBFWA 2019, DISARONNO was the cocktail drink of choice to celebrate fashion and style at all onsite Food & Beverage service points of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. The sophisticated taste of DISARONNO has a lineage dating back to one of the most romantic and creative periods of Italian history – The Renaissance.

Disaronno Sour’s were available to guests at the Star Lounge, Swarovski Launch Party, Huawei Party at Icebergs and DISARONNO even hosted the DISARONNO Influencer Party on the closing Industry night.  IMG invited DISARONNO to present the inaugural Fashion Week Influencer Party, establishing its position as the preferred drink for the fashion elite.

Fashion icons and influencers attended the A-List event, sipping on Disaronno Sour and mingling with over 60 guests. Amy Pejkovic (pictured above), Mel Whitelaw, Shaun Birley, Mescia twins, Donny Galella enjoyed free-flowing DISARONNO Sour cocktails and canapés on the Balcony Bar at CarriageWorks overlooking the bustling Hub before Carla Zampatti’s closing show.

DISARONNO also gave their Australian Facebook Fans an opportunity to attend the exclusive Runway shows for LEE MATHEWS and KARLA SPETIC, spots that are normally reserved for Invitation Only guests. Freda Chng and Dina Eliza Ridzwan were the 2 lucky winners who were able to bring a friend along and join in on the exclusive experience.

DISARONNO is a perfect match for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia as it has long been associated with fashion and fashion icons of Italy for some time. Every year for the past 6 years DISARONNO has partnered with an iconic Italian fashion house to create a LIMITED-EDITION Bottle. Past associations for the world’s favourite Italian liqueur have been MOSCHINO, VERSACE, CAVALLI, ETRO, MISSONI and TRUSSARDI. Anticipation has already been building up as to who DISARONNO will partner with this year to create its 7th consecutive limited-edition bottle.

But it was another icon, Carla Zampatti, who brought Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia to a magnificent close with a show-stopping presentation that combined her two loves, fashion and music. Models sauntered down the runway to the sounds of the Australian Brandeburg Orchestra in a collection of glamorous and wearable clothes that showed how incredibly fresh she remains, even after more than 50 years in the business.

The response to the DISARONNO SOUR – A unique refreshing drink, with distinctive notes of DISARONNO and the scent of freshly squeezed lemons – was phenomenal.  A classic Italian drink, it requires only a few simple ingredients.

50mL DISARONNO, 25mL fresh lemon juice, 5mL sugar syrup and egg white (optional). Shake all the ingredients with ice. Garnish with a slice of lemon.

Thanks to its smooth taste and unmistakable aroma, DISARONNO is highly regarded as the Italian stylish icon in over 160 countries around the world. The iconic DISARONNO recipe composed of natural almonds, vanilla from Madagascar and pure caramelized sugar, as well as the addition of aromatic and alcoholic complexity, makes the DISARONNO taste distinctively delicious.
